SECRET SANTA TIME!

Since this past Monday, we've been doing Secret Santa at school. For those of you that don't know this popular holiday game, basically the players put their names in a hat and have to pick somebody's name out of their. Then you have to buy gifts for that person without telling them that it's you.
So yeah, we've been doing that at school. It's been pretty fun, I have to admit. Normally I'm not much of a Santa person, 'cause, you know, I'm Jewish. Still, I really like this game. I know who my Secret Santa is because she revealed herself to me today: it's Ruby! She is the best Secret Santa EVER! She bought me a pencil case, a holiday doll, five candy canes, three Silly Bandz, and two marshmallow Santas. SHE ROCKS!
I've been buying for this girl named Abril who's in the 8th grade (*SPOILER ALERT*.) I got her some pretty cool stuff. I'm in a jolly mood. HO HO HO! HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!

Winter Concert

Hi!!! At school, we're preparing for this school concert, which is TOMORROW! It's going to be pretty cool, I think. We're singing a lot of holiday songs, 'cause, you, know, it's that time of the year. I'm doing a solo in one of the songs, so life is pretty good.
One of the best things about this concert is that tomorrow morning, before it starts, we're going to have a little holiday breakfast with hot cocoa and cookies! I LOVE THE HOLIDAYS!

Even More On People At School

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've just been kinda busy with opera rehearsals and performances. In fact, the reason why I have time to write this is because I have an opera performance soon, and I'm just chilling out before it starts.
I'm in a little bit of pain while I'm writing this because during P.E. today Quentin accidentally kicked the soccer ball at my eye. It's swollen and kinda purple, but I'm doing ok, all and all.
Now- for more on the people at school. I think I'll talk about what people are up to professionally right now... To start, Emily and Sophie have both been having a good deal of auditions, along with all the other actors and actresses at our school. Charlie is on tour, doing some sort of Christmas thing. Ted has been competing a lot and won 1rst place in his most recent competition. Conor has been doing a lot of standup comedy at different comedy clubs. Everybody is VERY busy. I shall continue to update the audience with the school's professional commitments.

People At School

Now let me talk about the kids at my new school. In the sixth grade, there are only FIVE of us, including me. ISN'T THAT AMAZING???!!!! I mean, seriously, at P.S. 58 there were like SEVENTY of us in fifth grade or something!! WOW!!!
Anyway, let's get talking about the people. So, there's me, of course, and then there's this girl named Meryl, who's from Paris and plays the cello. A month ago when school started she didn't know hardly any English, but she's learning super fast. Then there's Quentin, who talks like a dictionary, is  super-smart, and sings. Next there's Sophie. She is an actress who's done a lot of movies and stuff. The last kid is James, who's also an actor.
Since there are only five of us, we have a lot of classes with the seventh grade. In seventh grade there's Rosina who dances, Odessa who also dances (and ironically enough takes ballet with Nika), Ruby who figure-skates, Ted who's a gymnast, Gianna R. who dances, Gianna L. who acts, Amanda who acts, sings, and dances, Charlie who acts and is on Boardwalk Empire from time to time, Conor who's a comedian, and Ethan who acts.

Good News!!

  Hi all!!
I bring good news!! I am once again cast in La Boheme at the Met!!! Yay!
I'm at home right now. Today is a pretty lazy day. I'm just sitting around, doing homework, and CHILLING OUT for a change. Everything's great (besides from the homework part of it.)
I had this AWESOME sleepover party with Nika, Gabby, and Mireille at Nika's house a few weeks ago. It was really fun. It was nice to see them all again.
Part of the reason that I'm stuck doing homework is because my parents and I are thinking of going to see the movie Dolphin Tail sometime this afternoon. I'll write a post about it if I have a chance.

MIDDLE SCHOOL!!!

Hiya (again!)  Middle School has begun!!!
My new school is called the Professional Children's School (or PCS.) It is located in Manhattan, a few blocks away from Lincoln Center. It is a special school for kids like me that do something professionally! It totally rocks!!
Although none of my pals from P.S.58 go here, I have made some new friends. Also- Gabby got back from Italy a little over two weeks ago, so Mom, Dad, and I had dinner at her house. Alexander came too. We had this really good pasta Gabby had brought back from her trip!!!
School is going great!! I am writing this post two hours before a private lesson with Mr. Piccolo, the Metropolitan Opera Children's Chorus director. I'm so excited!!
As far as the projects from 58 (like the ALC), I'm sure I'll have time for those too.
I have to go now, but keep checking for new posts!!

I'm In Washington!

Hello again! Currently Mom, Dad, and I are in Washington DC (on that trip I mentioned during my last post.) We are staying with my great-aunt, great-uncle, and great-grandfather!  We're having a great time! Mom and Dad are out seeing a play, so I'm alone with the rest of the group.
I'm sure you are all wondering what the ALC is up to, but unfortunately I haven't got much to report. Since it's summer vacation right now the ALC members have been scattered, since we are all going on vacation and going to camp. Still though, I'm working on some planning for future projects. Stay tuned for more!

Animal Lovers' Club Update #8

It has been quite awhile since I've updated you on the ALC's activities, We've been very busy with the fifth grade musical (you can learn more from my previous post.) Anyway, we are currently working on our movie series The Root Of Frost (based on a book series I am writing in Writers' Club. Once we launch the movie, we plan on donating 50% of the cash to the World Wildlife Fund (we are still in pre-production, so we hope to start filming soon now that the musical is over.)
  We'll keep you posted!

The Fifth Grade Musical

Yay! We have performed two AMAZING performances of Ever After, our fifth grade musical. The musical is set in a talk show with the hosts, Monty (played by Essa) and Sally (played by Nika.) The two attempt to reconcile a lively bunch of fairytale characters that are all twenty years older than we remember them: Cinderella (played by Aria), the three Evil Stepsisters (played by Sophia, Lily, and Naima), Snow White (played by me), the Evil Queen (played by Gabby), her Mirror (played by Andres AND Izzy), Jiminy Cricket (played by Jacob), and Emmet Mantella, The Frog Prince (played by Nick.)
A big thanks to everyone in the show and especially to Ms. Blackwell (we couldn't have done all this without you.) Also- thanks to our tech people Paul and Betsy, to the fifth grade teachers, to Alexander (who controled the music) and also to all the people that came to see us (especially to those two little girls that followed the cast around trying to get our autographs!!)

The Process of Hydrofracturing

The process of hydrofracturing (or hydrofracking for short) is an easy way to drill for natural gas near our reservoirs. It might not sound that bad, but believe me, it is.
Hydrofracturing uses a lot of toxic chemical acids. Sometimes while drilling, these end up in the reservoirs, and the water in the reservoirs is the water we drink. Drinking polluted water can result in severe health problems, and bathing in polluted water can result in your skin peeling off.
However, from an economic viewpoint, hydrofracturing is the best thing since the telephone! It's your decision as an individual, but if I were you I would not want to have to drink (and bathe in) toxic water.

Martin Luther King's Day

Today is Martin Luther King's Day!!! For homework, each kid in my class is making a small paper quilt square that celebrates his achievements! The whole school is going to put them all together to make one, BIG, quilt!!!
Even better, we get a three day weekend!!!  Even though it's a holiday, I think we should still remember this man's amazing achievements.

Animal Lovers' Club Update #7

The ALC is VERY busy right now! I just completed the Snow White volume of the Idiot Princess Chronicles and gave (free) copies to some of my family members! Nika, Gabby, and I are also working on rehearsals  of the fifth grade musical Ever After.
At the same time, we are (once again) rescheduling our bakesale! We'll keep you posted!
