Happy February Break!

Well, it's February Break! Sorta. I only have Monday and Tuesday off because the rest of the week we're making up the days we lost during Hurricane Sandy. So that's that.
Had a performance of Carmen last night, and Parsifal opened on Friday. Yay!
Last night in between scenes of Carmen, I finally watched Pitch Perfect. It was really fun! It was definitely a chick flick, but I liked it! The music was actually really good, and I was impressed. I thought I was going to hate it, but I didn't! Yay!

Carmen! Parsifal! Frankenstein! And More!

Oy! I haven't posted in DECADES!
So here's what new: Carmen has returned to The Met! It reopened last night! So that's fun. :)
Meanwhile, we have started rehearsals for Parsifal, which is also at The Met. We get to sing from a dome that's ABOVE THE CEILING of the stage. It's really cool!
In my drama class at school, we've started rehearsing our play, Frankenstein, which opens in April. I play Samuel (ugh, a boy) a sailor who is on a ship with Captain Walton, an ambitious captain who's adventures run parallel to Victor Frankenstein's. It's a lot of fun. Updates to come.
So yeah, there's a lot of performing going on. I also saw three movies recently: Les Misérables, Beasts of the Southern Wild, and Trouble with the Curve. All of these were really good.
I totally adored Les Misérables. It was AMAZING!!! In my opinion, it was the best movie ever made, but maybe that's just me. I saw it the weekend after it came out, because I didn't want to go on the opening day. It was Christmas, and I was worried it would be too crowded. Anyway, it was to die for. Anyone who hasn't seen it yet should. It will change your life. I know it changed mine. I got all the songs on my iPod, and I listen to them constantly. I give it 5 (if not 6) out of 5 stars.
I saw Beasts of the Southern Wild a couple weeks ago. I liked it. I thought the little girl who played Hushpuppy was amazing. It had a ton of great actors. The storyline was a little hard to follow, but it was still enjoyable. I give it 3 out of 5 stars.
Lastly, I just watched Trouble with the Curve this weekend. It was fun. It wasn't the most clever storyline, but it's a lot of fun. It has some sweet moments. My dad cried through most of it. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
So that's that. I'm also currently obsessed with Downton Abbey, but I don't want this post to go on forever, so I'll save that for next time. Bye!
