The Last Descendant Trilogy

  Hey everyone! Here's a special page completely devoted to a trilogy I'm currently writing and planning on publishing somehow. It's called The Last Descendant Trilogy. This page has information about all the characters, and information on all of the books. Enjoy!

The Characters:

Heather McConnick:

Heather McConnick is the main character in all three books. All the books are told in the first person from her perspective.

Heather is a 14-year-old girl living on a large barn in Mississippi. Her mom lives there with her, while her dad is working in a military base in London. Since she's home-schooled, Heather spends all her time on the barn, planting and harvesting crops, feeding the animals, being sarcastic, and taking care of her loyal collie puppy, Clover.

This all changes when she meets Jay Crescentwill. He introduces her to the magical world of Lidona.

She has light skin, dark brown hair, and hazel eyes.

Heather is a major bookworm. She has a strange obsession with Shakespeare, and is known for making quotes from his various plays at the random.

She possesses some strange magical powers: she can make electric waves flow from her hands, and can attack with them. She also seems to have some sort of healing ability, and managed to heal many of Jay's wounds as well as her own. Her stamina is weak, though, so she can't do too many magical actions at a time.

She has a small crush on Jay, but prefers to stay as just friends for the time being.

Heather is rather thoughtful, but often sarcastic, quite the opposite of Sasha Veleveteen, who she nicknamed "Miss Priss." The two definitely did not get along when they first met, and Heather never really decided whether she trusted Sasha or not.

Heather is slightly bitter, and her outlook on life is pretty jaded. She doesn't feel like she belongs. The only person who loved her is her dad, and he's away.

She's not big on dresses and skirts, so her typical outfit will probably involve jeans. She finally wears a dress in the third book, when she goes with Jay and the rest of the gang to the big party in a neighboring kingdom, but that's about it.

She intensely disliked Dmitri Velveteen, Sasha's brother, when she first met him because of her history with his sister. However, she warmed up to him quicker than Jay, and the two end up good friends by the end of the series.

When she meets Xavier Sliven, Heather is the one who allows him to join the group. He means a lot to her, and she thinks of him as the little brother she's secretly always wanted.

Her favorite colors are blue and green, and her favorite jewels are emeralds.

Jay Crescentwill:

Jay Crescentwill is the prince of Lidona, or at least, he used to be.

 

Jay's father was the brother of King Giorgio, who was the king of Lidona. A year before he met Heather McConnick, Jay lost both his parents. His aunt, Queen Katrina, murdered Giorgio and all of his descendants by hiring an assassin. Long story short, she was bloodthirsty.

 

Jay escaped, thanks to the sacrifice made by his beloved cousin Fauna, whom he presumes dead. He ran away, and ended up in Mississippi, where he befriended Heather.

 

Jay is rather cute in appearance. He has dark shaggy hair, and big blue eyes. His skin is a medium tan. He is 14 years old at the beginning of the books.

 

Jay liked Heather the moment he met her. I guess you could say it was love at first sight. He made her the emerald necklace to show her he loved her, but Heather wasn't one to take a hint. Little did Jay know that the emerald necklace would play a big part in the prophecy he and Heather are involved in.

 

In the prophecy, he is known as The Blue. The reasons are obvious, his name and his blue eyes.

 

Jay's best friend in the world would have to be Xavier, once the two are reunited. He also has a strong bond with Sasha, and of course, with Heather, but he really just doesn't like Dmitri.

 

It's something to do with their families, to be simple. Jay just can't trust Dmitri, even though he's Sasha's brother. He doesn't accept him for real until the final battle is over.

 

Jay likes blue and black, so his clothing choices often reflect that. His favorite weapon is his sapphire-studded sword, which he stole. Yes, he has a brief history in crime, but he didn't really have a choice.

They should be more simple.   Sasha Velveteen: Sasha Velveteen has a troubled past. And I'm not just saying that. Her history is seriously messed-up.   Sasha came from a rich family, but her family was robbed of their wealth by the Slivens, Xavier's family, because they framed Sasha's dad for murder. He was executed by Queen Katrina herself, and Sasha's mom killed herself afterwards because she went crazy. So that left Sasha, her brother Dmitri, and their extremely incompetent uncle. Not a pretty picture.   She's fifteen years old when she joins Heather and Jay. In appearance, she's stunning. Pale skin, green eyes, and flaming red hair make her stand out. She often wears it in a long braid, but sometimes lets it hang loose.   Sasha has a strong bond with her brother. The two had to care for each other once their parents were gone, so they've gotten used to living together. Besides from Dmitri, Sasha's other true friend in the world is Arya, a talking red fox. Sasha and Arya are connected by something stronger than fate, and they are completely inseparable.   Sasha doesn't like Heather McConnick. She could probably make a list of reasons why that is, but it would go on for awhile. The main reason is that they're pretty much complete opposites.   Heather has always been calm, while Sasha is noisy and often rude. Sasha also likes being able to manipulate the opposite gender, and that's hard to do when Jay is always so busy thinking about Heather. See what I mean? It's tough.   Sasha has a thing for daggers. She carries a bunch of them around with her constantly in her belt pouch. They are her main weapons, and she can hit the intended target with one of them every time. Every time. Her favorite colors are green and red, but don't think "Oooh, Christmas!" I doubt that Sasha and Santa would get along.     This picture is of Sasha. Sasha looks exactly like this, except her hair is just a little bit darker.       Dmitri Velveteen:   Dmitri Velveteen is Sasha's sixteen-year-old brother. Since we've already discussed the Velveteens, I won't go deep into Dmitri's history but, like his sister's, it wasn't pretty.   He's taken care of his Sasha for as long as he can remember. His parents just seem like faraway memories to him now. Sasha even told him once that he seemed to be the only family she had, which is true.   You would think that the infamous Dmitri Velveteen would be a nice person, because of his kindness towards his sister. Well, you're fooling yourself. He's quite the opposite of nice.   Dmitri isn't always unpleasant. Just mostly. It seems to run in the family.   He has a fiery hatred of both the Slivens and the Crescentwills. For the Slivens, the reason is obvious, but when it comes to the Crescentwills, the reason might seem a little less apparent. It's because of his dad's execution. From what Queen Katrina tells him, the whole Crescentwill family (except for her), Giorgio in particular, had been more than happy to go through with the killing. Whether that's true or not, I can't say. Read the books to find out.   He's a master at archery. His bow is his main weapon.   Dmitri went into the wood-carving business after he and Sasha were orphaned. He has steady hands, and has managed to make quite a living off of them. Well, enough to get by, at least.   He has a sharp, handsome edge to his looks. His hair is a light brown, and his eyes are green, like Sasha's. Another similarity between him and his sister is his pale skin.   In every way, he is cold, nasty, disagreeable, and unforgiving. There are only two people in the world who can melt his heart: his sister, and oddly enough, Fauna Crescentwill.   Or at least, Fauna used to be able to, because she is considered dead.     This picture is of Dmitri. I made it using the Tudor Maker on Doll Divine. He looks like this exactly.     Xavier Sliven: Xavier is an interesting kid. Mainly, because he ran away from home when he was a little boy.   There are a few reasons that can explain this. To start, his family was starting to scare him, with their obsession to destroy the Velveteens. But that's not the main reason. The main reason is that he was an invizial. And Katrina hunted invizials. It's a long story.   What's an invizial, you ask? Well, that's funny, because I was just about to tell you. An invizial is a person that can turn invisible, anytime, anywhere. And there's not a special "snap your fingers and say the magic words" kind of thing involved. No, all an invizial has to do to use their power is to think it.   Xavier happens to be the last invizial. There's a good deal of backstory involved, but basically, Katrina's family has been hunting invizials for years. As you may have gathered by now if you're even just a little bit smart, Katrina and Co. are all very power-hungry. And a lot of power can be gained by slaying invizials. Again, another long story.    The point is, Xavier ran away. And he survived alone in some mysterious area. And everyone presumed he was dead. And everyone presumed that Sasha and Dmitri's father was the murderer.   So that sort of explains why Dmitri wasn't exactly wild about Xavier at their first meeting.    He's ten years old when he first shows up in the second book. He has sandy blond hair, large blue eyes, and lightly tanned skin. He's sweet, calm, and quiet. His nearest, dearest, friend is Jay, but he feels a special attachment to Heather. She reminds him of his sister, Rose, who he left behind when he left his family.     This picture is of Xavier. I made it using the Tudor maker. He looks a lot like this, except just a little bit younger.     Fauna Crescentwill: Fauna Crescentwill is supposed to be dead.   I won't specify whether she really is or not, because that would spoil the whole series. Instead, I'll just talk about her personality and history.   Fauna is/was the daughter of Giorgio and Katrina Crescentwill. She is/was Jay's cousin.   (From now on, I'll just pretend she's still alive to make this easier).   Fauna was a sweet little girl as a child. She was Jay's closest friend and constant companion in everything.   It was obvious from the day she was born that she was special. She inherited amazing magical abilities from her mom, but, unlike Katrina, she didn't practice black magic. Her magic substance is different from Heather's and Katrina's. While Heather and Katrina are connected, as both their magic is electric (Katrina's is dark and Heather's is light), Fauna is different entirely. Her magic flows from her fingertips in soft, smooth water-like waves.   She offered herself  as a prisoner to The Assassin (he could take her to the Rikimn) when Jay was about to be murdered. She never came back, so everyone assumed she had died.   In looks she's just, well, beautiful, but in a different way from Sasha. She's a bit more subtle in looks, and would never try to manipulate other people with her appearance. Fauna has long, flowing golden hair, dark blue eyes, and fair skin. Her favorite colors are pink and blue. She has a special connection with animals, birds in particular.   So...is she alive or dead? That's up to you to find out.   This picture is of Fauna. I made it using the Erte Elegance Maker on Doll Divine. She looks a lot like this, except the flowers in her hair should be lighter.       Katrina Crescentwill: So, let's talk about her. The lady that made it all possible. Or really, was a pain in the neck to everyone.   Katrina is everyone's last-favorite person living. She killed her husband and her in-laws. She doesn't know what happened to her daughter, but she guesses that Fauna is dead. That was a mistake on The Assassin's part, because Katrina never wanted to kill her daughter, but everyone makes mistakes. She made a bargain with a girl who has become known as The Emerald. The Emerald gave Katrina the ability to increase her power by stealing he magic of magical creatures, but at a price. The Emerald warned Katrina that this power, and the hunger for more power that would follow would lead to her downfall. The Emerald also mentioned - as she could see the future - that Katrina would be wise to remember this girl's necklace. The girl told her that what once contained the ability to destroy would soon contain the one thing Katrina feared most. Skeptics are still wondering what The Emerald meant by that. Katrina is greedy. She drained the power of magical animals, but that wasn't enough. Now she's after the invizials. Her magic comes in the form of dark electric blasts. They vaguely resemble lightning, and one blast can kill, but slowly. Katrina's magic is laced with poison, so death by her lightning is slow and painful. It can take for up to a week for the victim to finally die. In appearance she's terrifyingly beautiful. Her hair is jet black, her skin is pale, and her eyes are an unique grey-purple. Her favorite color is purple. A dark, dark purple, like the night sky. Obviously. Her whole castle is one big purple explosion. Katrina didn't know that Jay was still alive for quite awhile. The fact that The Assassin failed makes her angry. Very angry. In fact, he's lucky she didn't execute him. Yeah, she's a big fan of execution. Don't ask why. She just has some serious violence issues. I mean, heck, she killed her own husband. And now she has all of Lidona under a tyrannical reign. The only people that could maybe defeat her? The Rikimn. And from the rumors that have been spreading, the Rikimn king and Katrina are having an affair, so that wouldn't be any use. So Giorgio tried to stop her. And we all know how he ended up. Is anyone going to step up to the plate? Probably not. The prophecy says The Mage will defeat Katrina, and the only person that could be is Heather.   This picture is of Katrina. She looks exactly like this. I made it with the Tudors Maker on Doll Divine.           The Last Descendants: It is possible you find yourself wondering why this series is called "The Last Descendants."   So here they are: The Last Descendants.   The Blue: The Blue is actually revealed pretty early on. As soon as the prophecy is discovered, it is known that Jay is The Blue.   The Blue is The Last Descendant of King Giorgio.    In the prophecy, The Blue is described as being the principle target of The Dark. The Blue is everything The Dark isn't, caring and kind. And unlike The Dark, The Blue can actually love. So, in a way, you could say that love is The Blue's greatest weapon. Besides his sword, of course.   This version of Jay in his full glory as The Blue was made with Doll Divine's Elf Prince Maker. The outfit is the basic design of the one he will wear for the final battle, that thing on his head is his crown, and the sword that he is holding is his sapphire sword (the hilt came out green instead of blue).     The Invisible: One of the three known Descendants is The Invisible, or in reality, Xavier.   Xavier is an Invizial, and as I have previously mentioned, he is the last of his kind (as far as we know). He is The Last Descendant of the first Invizials. Invizials used to be quite common before they were hunted down by Katrina.   The Invisible is sleek, swift, and quiet. His chief purpose is to protect himself above all costs. While this might seem selfish, it is what this young boy has to do to fulfill his destiny.       Contrary to what you are probably thinking right now, this is not just a picture of a landscape and nothing more. This is a picture of The Invisible in his full form. If you don't understand what that means, you obviously skipped over the above three paragraphs. I recommend you read them before we proceed any further. I made this amazing portrayal of Xavier with Doll Divine's Game of Thrones Maker.     The Assassin: When mentioning The Last Descendants, it would be a crime to leave out The Assassin.   The Assassin is one who knows crime all too well.   The Assassin is undoubtedly the person hired by The Dark to kill the king and all his descendants. But, as everyone knows, The Assassin failed.   The Assassin didn't kill The Blue.   The reason The Assassin is considered a Descendant remains a mystery. As far as we know, he is not the last of anything...   Not much is known of The Assassin. It is said that he is skilled with a bow and arrow. These were the weapons that killed the king. He wore all black on the day of the murder.   All black...   ...Either to blend in the shadows, or because he was in mourning.     Here is a picture of The Assassin. Oh no! It seems that an odd dragon creature flew through the image and covered The Assassin's face. MWHAHAHA. You really thought I would let you find out who he was so easily? I made The Assassin with the Game of Thrones Maker on Doll Divine.     The Traitor: The Traitor is yet another mystery. If it wasn't for The Mage, knowledge of The Traitor would be even more limited.   Basically, The Traitor is known to be one who will betray. He/she is really a double agent, who is actually working for The Dark while he/she seems to be working for his/her victim.   The Traitor is a Descendant, for a reason that will reveal itself if you pay close attention.   The Traitor is not all bad, though, and tried many times to warn his/her victim.   The Traitor is despised, and since it is fate, The Traitor's victim will not realize their mistake until it is too late.   But... too late for whom?   Here is a portrayal of The Traitor. I clouded some of his/her features with little balls of light, but if you look carefully, you can definitely pick up some obvious clues to who The Traitor is. And no, I didn't just through in the mirror, curtain, and frozen pond for no reason. Think about it. I made The Traitor with the Pixie Scene Maker on Doll Divine.      The Dark: The Dark is the Descendant behind it all.   The Dark is The Last Descendant of the Dark Mages. She is obviously Queen Katrina.   The Dark is the fire that all other Descendants is trying to put out. But you can't put out a flame like The Dark. It can only spread.   The Dark has many victims. The Blue, The Invisible, The Mage...   They are all targets.   The Dark is like a very sharp arrow. Once she has found her target, she is nearly invincible. She will pierce through its heart.   Is she dangerous? Yes. Powerful? Yes. Invincible? Probably.   But there is one who can end the reign of The Dark.   The Mage. Here is The Dark, all decked out in black. Notice the magic circle surrounding her feet. I made her with the Historical Witch Creator on Doll Divine.     The Mage: The Mage is the only one with the power to defeat The Dark.   The Mage used her magic to create a prophecy. This prophecy gave her the ability to kill The Dark.   But she hasn't...   Yet...   The Mage is a mystery. She is known to be The Last Descendant of the Bright Mages. She is the opposite of The Dark in every way.   She is powerful.   She is strong.   She is the people's hero.   Now they just have to wait for her to come.     Here is The Mage. She is dressed up festively, as you can see. This is probably something The Mage, who is very modest, would wear to, I don't know, some big royal ball or party. You can puzzle over the crown for as long as you want, but I assure you, it's there for a reason. The balls of light aren't just there by chance either. Don't assume the color of the hair is the actual color, because remember, light and gold surround The Mage everywhere she goes. I made The Mage with the Pixie Scene Maker on Doll Divine.     The Emerald: Everyone knows her story. She is the witch, that horrible creature, who gave The Dark one of her deadly magical powers. The Emerald is viewed as an enemy just like The Dark. Some hate The Emerald even more.   Everyone knows her story, but no one knows her. No one ever met her other than The Dark. Is she to be feared or trusted?   Everyone decided that she is to be feared, so she is. No one has seen her, but people despise her. The Emerald is an outcast, and if she ever came to Lidona, she would be killed.   If she ever came anywhere, she would be killed.   The Emerald is powerful - there's no doubt about it. She gave The Dark the power to become more powerful.   The Emerald did say one thing to The Dark, though, that has left everyone confused. She told The Dark that because she was being given this power, her greatest weakness would be her demise.   No one has ever figured out what that meant.   The Emerald...   Her trademark? Her emerald necklace from which she got her nickname. It is said to be the source of her magical powers.   So the question is, from which group is The Emerald The Last Descendant?   That is unknown.   Everyone hates her.   Except for one.   That one is not Katrina.   But the only person who has ever met The Emerald was The Dark.   Now you can try to figure that out. I made The Emerald with the Pixie Scene Maker on Doll Divine.            The Books: Beyond The Bridge (Book 1): Heather McConnick lives on an old-fashioned farm in Mississippi with her mom, two dogs, and a ton of other useless creatures. Her dad is in California. The year is 2005. Summer is almost done, and out of the blue, a massive storm strikes. Heather comes face-to-face with Jay Crescentwill, an exiled prince from another world. Jay needs Heather's help. Heather and Jay attempt to reach Lidona, Jay's home, with the help of an ally, Sasha Velveteen. Or a sort-of-ally. For Heather, Sasha is nothing but trouble. Something is happening, and Heather, Jay, and Sasha find themselves forced in the middle of it. Each begins to discover their own unique power, and their destinies become more and more intertwined. Jay's history becomes revealed, and Sasha's secrets will be discovered as well. Heather begins to learn about loss. She also, for the first time in her life, discovers friendship. Suddenly, a mysterious prophecy comes into the picture. The author is unknown, but the words seem to suggest that Heather will be the one to defeat Katrina Crescentwill, Jay's aunt and Lidona's tyrannical leader. The Emerald and The Blue. The Traitor and The Assasin. The names that were at first nothing but letters on a piece of paper become reality. The prophecy begins to have a mind of its own. Someone out there has predicted the future. Someone out there knows Heather's fate.   The Assassin (Book 2): Heather McConnick, Jay Crescentwill, and Sasha Velveteen have done the unthinkable. They've finally arrived in Lidona.   After hopeless attempts, after a near-death experience for Heather, the trio have achieved their goal. But they are not safe yet. The biggest dangers are still in store.   According to Sasha, there is a shortcut to Katrina's castle if you cross through the Crescentwill Cliffs. Heather, Jay, and Sasha find themselves doing just that, but little do they know that their loyalties are about to be tested. The Traitor will be revealed. A life will be lost. The Assassin will be found.   Heather will find her dad, even though she thought she knew where he was all along. She'll have to decide how far she will go to save him. The prophecy will change, as a knew variable, a new pawn, comes into play: The Invisible. Who is The Invisible? Heather and the gang are about to find out. What was once a group of traveling companions will now become a rebellion. Heather's team is growing stronger, but Katrina has some tricks up her sleeve.   The Mage's Prophecy (Book 3): Heather's journey from one world to another began with a storm. And apparently, it's about to end in a storm as well. Heather, Jay, Dmitri, and Xavier are organizing a rebellion. They have enlisted the help of Xavier's band of followers, and preparations are underway. But this attack against Katrina won't be easy. First off, Heather still has to figure out what to do about her dad. She can't find any way to reverse the memory wipe, and she's beginning to wonder if living is worth it when you aren't really yourself. A newbie will join the team. The maker of the prophecy will be known. Katrina is growing stronger. She is one invizial away from having ultimate power. That one invizial is in Heather's group. That one invizial will find himself in terrible danger. The Rikimn are on Katrina's side, thanks to her winning the affections of the Rikimn king. Now Katrina has an unstoppable army. Things aren't looking good. Heather and Jay will have to trust in each other if they want to win the final battle. Heather can only discover her true identity if she learns to let go of the one person she needs most.
